Why this job matters: Act as a key member of the consultative account team for key BCBSRI employer clients. Analyze data to form insighst and be a consultative partner to the Account Executive and account directly to develop recommendations and solutions based on data findings. Present findings to clients directly and serve as a main point of contact for account-specific analytics. Serve in a highly visible role that works cross-functionally across the BCBSRI organization and directly with key accounts.
What you will do:
- Serve as Information Consultant for set of 5-10 key accounts, being a consultative partner in developing analytical insights and recommended solutions.
- Perform routine to moderately complex analysis of claims data (cost, utilization) and synthesize findings into meaningful insights.
- Evaluate data findings and work with cross-functional BCBSRI teams to formulate account-specific recommendations and evaluate effectiveness of recommendations once implemented.
- Create presentations, reports, and spreadsheets displaying data and recommendations in a logical and concise manner.
- Maintain documentation of analysis and client interactions.
- Effectively lead presentations to accounts, serving as a subject matter expert on analytics and demonstrating broad knowledge of BCBSRI programs, benefits, solutions, and processes.
- Provide fundamental analytical support to the organization by developing and promoting consistent analytical methodologies.
- Demonstrate dedication to meeting and exceeding client expectations.
- Participate in department initiatives and projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three to five years of health data analysis, business analysis, healthcare strategy or health insurance experience with demonstrated analytics and consultative skills.
- Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and synthesize complex data sets and turn insights into recommended actions
- Understanding of SAS programming, spreadsheet, and database software and other application development tools
- Good business acumen and political savvy
- Knowledge of healthcare benefits and healthcare industry
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills

- Ability to create clear presentations and lead presentations to external clients

Location: BCBSRI is headquartered in downtown Providence, conveniently located near the train station and bus terminal. We actively support associate well-being and work/life balance and offer the following schedules, based on role:
- In-office: onsite 5 days per week
- Hybrid: onsite 2-4 days per week
