Lockheed Martin’s Undersea Mission Systems (UMS) team is advancing the next generation of undersea combat capabilities. Through the Undersea Combat System (UCS) Re-architecture effort, we’re developing the technologies and architectural foundation needed to evolve our systems and address future mission needs.
THE WORK
The Undersea Mission Systems Chief Engineer organization is seeking a UCS Re-architecture IR&D Lead to drive the technical execution of this critical investment.In this role, you’ll be accountable for the technical, cost, and schedule performance of the UCS Re-architecture IR&D effort while managing the broader UMS IR&D portfolio through annual planning and current-year execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the technical, cost, schedule, and execution performance of the UCS Re-architecture IR&D effort.
• Manage the UMS IR&D portfolio, including current-year execution and planning for future investment priorities.
• Partner across MIC2 market segments to identify technologies and IR&D investments that can be leveraged to advance the UCS Re-architecture strategy
• Ensure IR&D projects and technical outcomes align with the Re-architecture vision and direction established by the Chief Architect.
• Establish and communicate IR&D roadmaps, schedules, technical progress, investment status, risks, and outcomes.
• Provide clear program updates to senior and executive leadership, customers, and key stakeholders.• Collaborate with the Chief Architect, PMO, customers, and other MIC2 Re-architecture teams to align investments and drive successful execution.
