Mobile Gas Engineer — London
JLL | Workplace Management
You're Gas Safe qualified with commercial tickets and real experience. But you're working for outfits that cut corners, chase the cheapest price, and leave you to carry the can when something goes wrong.
What if you could use those skills somewhere that actually does things properly? Where compliance isn't a suggestion, backup isn't a myth, and your van doesn't break down every other month because "we'll sort it next week."
We're looking for mobile gas engineers who want more than just reactive callouts and broken promises. At JLL, you get the stability, equipment, support, and career options that smaller operations simply cannot provide.
Why gas engineers choose JLL
Work for a company that takes compliance seriously
100% adherence to Gas Safety Regulations isn't optional at JLL — it's non-negotiable. You'll never be pressured to cut corners or sign off work that isn't right. Your Gas Safe registration matters to us, not just for legal cover but because we actually care about doing things properly.
Equipment that works
Company vehicle that's actually serviced, fuel card that doesn't get declined, and proper tools provided from day one. You're a gas engineer, not a mobile tool library funding someone else's business.
Commercial work worth doing
Diverse portfolio across London means proper systems — modern condensing boilers, complex heating controls, commercial plant rooms, and installations that require genuine technical skill. Not the same domestic boiler swap on repeat.
Stability and pay you can count on
Competitive salary with transparent structure, not day rates that vanish when contracts dry up. The security of a FTSE 250 company with blue-chip clients and long-term accounts. You get paid on time, every time.
Backup that exists
Regional engineering teams, technical support, and site managers who actually answer calls. You're mobile but supported — when you need help, you get it. When something's unsafe, you can stop work without career consequences.
Career progression that's real
Clear pathways to senior engineer, supervisor, and contracts manager roles. We promote from within because developing good people makes more sense than constantly recruiting replacements who don't know the sites.
Training you'll actually use
Ongoing professional development, additional Gas Safe qualifications funded, and exposure to modern commercial systems and FM best practices. Keep your skills current and your career moving forward.
The complete package
Core compensation:
- Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications
- Realistic progression and earning potential
- Stable income, not uncertain day rates
Fully equipped:
- Company vehicle and fuel card
- Mobile phone provided
- Professional tools and equipment
- All maintained properly, not on your credit card
Time off:
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
- Fair on-call rota with proper compensation
- Work-life balance that's more than a poster slogan
Security & benefits:
- Comprehensive pension scheme
- Career progression within JLL's global network
- Professional development and training support
- Life assurance and wellbeing programs
What you'll be doing
You'll cover a portfolio of commercial properties across London, handling reactive maintenance callouts and planned preventative maintenance on gas heating systems, boilers, and appliances.
Your day involves efficient fault diagnosis and repair to minimize client downtime, installation and commissioning of commercial gas systems, and conducting gas safety checks with accurate record-keeping.
You'll carry out PPM in accordance with manufacturer specifications and statutory requirements, complete risk assessments and method statements properly, and maintain your company vehicle and equipment to high standards.
This means working independently across multiple sites, making professional decisions, and representing JLL's engineering excellence to building occupants and clients. You'll provide excellent customer service, use mobile technology for job management, and participate in on-call rota as required.
Real commercial gas engineering on quality properties where your work matters and your expertise is recognized.
What we need from you
Essential:
- Gas Safe registered with commercial qualifications: CCN1, CENWAT, CORT1, ICPN1, TPCP1A (minimum)
- Proven commercial gas engineering experience

- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities

- Ability to work independently and manage your workload
- Good understanding of health and safety legislation
- Confident using mobile technology for job management

- Additional Gas Safe qualifications: CDGA1, CIGA1, TCPCP1
- Experience across commercial office, retail, or mixed-use properties
- 18th Edition electrical qualifications
- PASMA or IPAF certification
The JLL difference: We're looking for gas engineers who want to work properly, not just quickly. Someone who takes pride in quality installations, understands that compliance protects everyone, and sees this as a career move rather than just another mobile contract.
What you can expect from us
You'll join a professional engineering community within one of the world's leading real estate and facilities management companies. That means proper systems, quality clients, modern equipment, and genuine support when you need it.
At JLL, your Gas Safe qualifications and commercial experience are valued, not just exploited. You'll work on landmark properties, collaborate with skilled colleagues, and have access to training and career progression that smaller firms cannot offer.
This is your chance to use your gas engineering skills somewhere that does things right — where "mobile engineer" is a starting point, not a life sentence driving between breakdowns.
