The Strategic Division (SD) supports high-reliability organizations including Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, and the Department of Energy (DOE), among others. Our support across our client base is expanding rapidly and encompasses important services, such as data analytics and visualization, threat analysis, risk management, modeling and simulation, cost estimating, earned value management, program management, system engineering, independent evaluation, and High Consequence Event prevention.
The Surety Programs Group (SPG) supports government and private sector management of complex safety, security, and reliability programs for high consequence operations. SPG delivers industry-leading, innovative, and value-added services such as data analytics and visualization, threat analysis, risk management, modeling and simulation, program management, system engineering, independent evaluation, and High Consequence Event prevention to help our clients understand and mitigate mission risks spanning physical, cyber, and human domains. SPG has an immediate or near term need for a Data Scientist that will work as part of a cross-functional team responsible for systematically evaluating client threats, vulnerabilities, performance, and cost-risk trades.
Responsibilities:
SPG is seeking a junior-mid level Data Scientist to provide analytical support for SPA customers in the national security and high consequence operations spaces.
- Conduct data gathering, mining, and analysis to explore data from disparate sources and formats.
- Work with senior data scientists and operations research analysts with development and implementation of new analytical capabilities and tools.
- Transform data and analysis into informative data visualizations and interactive dashboards for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Derive insights and analytics narratives from data for effective storytelling and clear communication in response to client questions/requirements.
- Apply critical and analytical thinking skills to translate complex information into understandable work products.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. citizen with DoD Security Clearance (or ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance).
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, quantitative social sciences, or related discipline.
- 3+ years experience with data gathering, cleaning, storage, mining, analysis, and visualization.
- 3+ years experience with data analysis tools such as R, Tableau, Python, MATLAB, SAS, Stata, etc.
- Experience developing database systems using either SQL Server or Access.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, or related discipline.
- Experience with statistical modeling.
- Experience with Machine Learning/AI.
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
