Description:Duties/Responsibilities: Duties include but are not limited to: 1.
Supervises operation or operates power plant equipment under
direction of shift supervisor. 2. Relives operating engineers log
entries of previous shift and reports to shift supervisor for special
instructions or information. 3. Starts, stops, operates various
pumps, auxiliaries and other equipment in safe operation of power plant facilities. 4. Visits various stations and observes equipment in operation. 5. Observes Steafa/Talon(BAS)Building Automation
System computer station, various meters, gauges and indicators displaying pressures of steam, fuel, compressed air and electrical current being used, produced or maintained and makes adjustments as necessary to meet operating requirements, cleans equipment
regularly, makes minor repairs to maintain operation using
necessary hand tools and assists maintenance mechanic in routine repairs of equipment. 6. Tests water chemistry on samples of boiler feed water using chemical reagents and a color comparator and makes adjustments to chemical feed rates, orders chemical supplies for water treatment as required. 7. Maintains and checks sewer
pumps and water pressure/level of fire sprinkler system, keeps accurate log of all shift activities in office log book, collecting information from remote station operators and from meters, gauges and indicators of various types. 8. Reports unusual alarm activities or situations to shift supervisors. Only candidates extensively skilled in the daily operations of powerhouse and centrifugal liquid chiller operation will be considered. All candidates must have a New Jersey Blue Seal operator license or higher. Experience with complex building HVAC and building management controls a plus. Then candidate must be experienced with steam and chilled water
building environmental systems. The candidate should be able to troubleshoot and perform basic preventive maintenance on standard powerhouse equipment in an industrial work environment. It is a
plus if the candidate is skilled in basic electrical-mechanical trades and has a background in the repair of industrial manufacturing
equipment. Extensive knowledge of HVAC/refrigeration and boiler systems is a requirement. The candidate must supply all customary hand tools of the trade.

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the secret level
Desired Skills:Building Automation Control Systems (DDC), HVAC/Refrigeration Skills, Electrical/Mechanical Skills.
