Title:
Cybersecurity Engineer
This is contingency hire for a full-time position supporting a government agency in Northern Virginia. The Cybersecurity Engineer will work independently and as a team contributor to fulfill mission requirements. This role ensures the protection of the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks and data against cyber-attacks and unauthorized access. The engineer needs to have management skills to ensure all key stakeholders all informed to ensure success in support of critical national security missions.
Job Duties:
Provide cybersecurity support for ICD 503
Provide continuous monitoring oversight and integration utilizing a change management process
Apply ICD 503, NIST, and CNSSI security requirements
Review and assess systems and applications using Risk Management Framework
Reviews systems security posture and plan of action and milestones
Provide system security categorization support to government PM
Review and recommend changes to cybersecurity and zero trust approach
Assist product development teams with Assessment and Authorization process
Minimum Requirements:
Familiarity with ICD 503, NIST, and CNSSI cybersecurity policies and Risk Management Framework
Experience with A&A processes, ATO requirements, and SCA/AO requirements
Experience with DevSecOps and agile development
Proven work experience as a cybersecurity engineer or similar role
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline (STEM)
Certifications in CISSP
Knowledge of agency operating systems and databases
Experience with cloud (AWS, Azure) and virtual machines
Experience in the use of Tableau, SharePoint, JIRA and Confluence
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related STEM field
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or its DoD equivalent or coursework
Clearance: TS/SCI with Poly
