Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Senior Product Manager to define and deliver capabilities for Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE). You will work with developers, platform engineers, and enterprise customers to understand their needs and translate them into product experiences that simplify Kubernetes adoption and production operations.
As an individual contributor, you will own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery for a defined area within OKE. Working closely with engineering, user experience, solutions architects, and field teams, you will guide capabilities from customer discovery through launch and adoption. You will balance the evolution of Kubernetes and its ecosystem with enterprise requirements for reliability, security, scalability, usability, and cost efficiency.
The ideal candidate brings:
- 5+ years of relevant experience, including product management for cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, developer platforms, or enterprise software.
- Strong technical understanding of Kubernetes architecture, containers, cluster lifecycle management, and production cloud environments.
- Familiarity with cloud networking, compute, storage, IAM, registries, observability, and their role in running containerized applications.
- Experience developing products for platform engineering or DevOps teams, including infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, or GitOps workflows.
- Demonstrated success defining product requirements, prioritizing roadmaps, and delivering capabilities from discovery through launch and adoption.
- Strong customer research and analytical skills, with the ability to connect customer problems, product usage, and business outcomes.
- Clear written and verbal communication, sound technical judgment, and the ability to influence engineering and business stakeholders across teams.
Internal Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Customer and market insight: Engage developers, platform engineers, application owners, and enterprise customers to understand Kubernetes adoption and operational challenges. Evaluate ecosystem trends, competing platforms, and migration requirements to identify opportunities for OKE.
- Product strategy and roadmap: Own the roadmap for your product area, establishing clear customer problems, priorities, and success criteria. Make informed tradeoffs across customer value, technical complexity, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
- Cluster lifecycle and operations: Define experiences that simplify cluster onboarding, configuration, node management, upgrades, scaling, and ongoing operations. Help customers maintain reliable environments as their workloads and Kubernetes requirements evolve.
- Developer and platform experience: Improve how customers deploy workloads and integrate OKE into their existing toolchains. Partner with teams responsible for Terraform, Resource Manager, OCI DevOps, registries, and APIs to deliver consistent, repeatable workflows.
- Production quality and efficiency: Translate customer requirements for availability, performance, security, observability, and cost into product priorities. Partner with engineering to address operational friction, compatibility concerns, and recurring support issues.
- Cross-functional execution: Develop requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria with engineering and design. Coordinate dependencies across compute, networking, storage, identity, and other OCI services, validating the complete customer experience before release.
- Launch and adoption: Recruit design partners and early adopters, validate new capabilities, and coordinate release readiness. Work with product marketing, solutions architects, documentation, and field teams on positioning, demonstrations, enablement, and customer adoption.
- Measurement and continuous improvement: Establish metrics such as onboarding completion, time to deploy workloads, successful upgrades, production adoption, and reduced operational effort. Use telemetry, customer feedback, and support trends to evaluate outcomes and refine the roadmap.
