Lockheed Martin is a global security and aerospace company that employs approximately 114,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration, and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products, and services. Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is one of four Lockheed Martin business areas.
We are growing rapidly and seeking to hire a Systems Integration & Test Engineer for our Grand Prairie, TX site.
The RF Calibration Test Engineer will plan and execute developmental calibration testing of RF sensors in anechoic chambers and outdoor test ranges. Under general direction, the engineer will independently develop calibration test methods and procedures, configure RF measurement systems, analyze data, and assess measurement quality. This role applies comprehensive RF/microwave, antenna, propagation, and radar signal processing knowledge to complex calibration issues and collaborates with design and systems teams to produce repeatable, traceable calibration results.
Core Responsibilities
• Translate assigned sensor calibration requirements into test methods, procedures, test configurations, and data quality criteria.
• Plan and coordinate chamber and outdoor range activities, including equipment readiness, reference measurements, and test article configuration.
• Configure and operate vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, and associated RF test equipment.
• Develop and execute sensor calibration measurements, characterize test-path effects, and apply approved calibration and correction methods.
• Evaluate repeatability, measurement uncertainty, and environmental or setup influences on calibration results.
• Develop MATLAB, Python, or comparable tools for instrument automation, data reduction, analysis, and visualization.
• Investigate complex discrepancies involving RF hardware, antenna response, signal processing, propagation, and test setup effects.
• Prepare calibration data products and technical reports, document assumptions and limitations, and coordinate review with sensor design and systems engineers.
• Maintain traceability of reference standards, instrument calibration status, as-run configurations, and analysis software versions.
