Amazon DynamoDB powers many of the world's fastest-growing businesses, including Lyft, Airbnb, and Redfin. It also powers enterprises such as Samsung, Toyota, and Capital One. Within Amazon, it runs high-traffic properties including Alexa, Amazon.com, and every Amazon fulfillment center. DynamoDB is one of the largest distributed database systems in the world. We believe it is always Day 1, and we keep improving the service and adding new capabilities.
DynamoDB customers count on consistent single-digit millisecond performance at any scale, high availability, and durable data. Testing is how DynamoDB keeps those promises with every change it ships. The Test Infrastructure team builds test frameworks that every DynamoDB engineer uses to validate features, run integration and performance tests, and qualify releases. When test infrastructure is fast and reliable, every DynamoDB team delivers features faster.
Testing is also central to how DynamoDB speeds up delivery as engineers bring AI agents into their development work. An agent can only correct its own mistakes if it can run a change against a realistic system and see the result. Ready-to-run test clusters give agents that feedback loop. The features this team builds let DynamoDB engineers use AI-assisted development for changes that need more than unit tests, and they let DynamoDB add automated testing to every code review and every release.
Key job responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate the test infrastructure, frameworks, and tooling that power DynamoDB testing.
- Build test infrastructure that AI agents can use on their own, with clusters ready on demand and results, logs, and metrics an agent can act on.
- Treat DynamoDB engineers as your customers. Reduce how long they wait for test results and how often their tests fail because of infrastructure.
- Own features end to end, from design through deployment and operation, and deliver ambiguous projects with minimal guidance.
- Debug failures across services and fix root causes in the system.
