Description:You will be the Aircraft Painter, Paint Technician Level 3 for the Lockheed Martin Greenville Paint Operations Team. Our team is responsible for Production and Sustainment paint/coating operations on F-16s and other military aircraft prior to delivery to our customers.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Aircraft Painter, Paint Technician you will be responsible for a variety of essential job functions, such as:
• Perform washing, chemical treatments, and surface conditioning to ensure optimal paint adhesion and longevity.
• Prepare aircraft, parts, components, and surfaces, ensuring all areas are properly protected and free from contaminants.
• Utilize various hand tools and hand-held power tools such as grinders, sanders, paint guns, and measuring devices to achieve desired paint finishes.
• Maintain and troubleshoot painting equipment to ensure continuous operation and optimal performance in the aerospace industry.
• Ensure all surfaces are prepped to exact specifications, applying advanced techniques to achieve optimal paint adhesion and a high-quality finish.
Physical Requirements:
• Candidates must complete a post-offer medical exam prior to the start.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee will be required to wear Personal Protective
• Use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear.
• Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, twist, and work on or in the aircraft.
• Frequently lift and/or push or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or push or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Perform repetitive movements and work overhead.
Equipment (PPE) as needed to perform job tasks.
• The employee is regularly exposed to vibration.

Basic Qualifications:
• Candidate must have at least 4 years of aircraft paint applications with a total of 8 years of experience in aircraft paint and/or automotive applications.
Desired Skills:
• Ability to read and interpret engineering paint drawings and technical manuals, understanding symbols, flags, and general notes to ensure precise application.
• Expertise in the layout, application, and interpretation of marking drawings for major and minor interior/exterior markings and decals, including stripes and two-tone surfaces, which are essential for aircraft identification and aesthetics.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills to manage painting projects, enhance team productivity through strategic planning, and foster a collaborative work environment.
• Capable of performing comprehensive surface preparation, including sophisticated chemical treatments and abrasive techniques on critical and structural components of aircraft.
• Capable of applying multiple layers of paint, controlling the thickness and evenness of each coat, and managing intermediate drying times and techniques without supervision.
• Capable of adjusting paint mixing ratios and viscosity for different environmental conditions and surface types, ensuring consistent quality and thickness in each coat without supervision.
• Capable of applying advanced techniques in Low Observable (LO) and Radar Absorbing Material (RAM) coatings, ensuring correct thickness and uniformity, managing environmental factors affecting application, and performing quality checks without supervision.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
