The Principal Specialist Supplier Development, will have the responsibility to manage a portfolio of key high impact suppliers to drive supplier improvement and sustained performance
You will help key suppliers in the resolution of significant issues that are likely to have a business-wide impact by working cross functionally with Engineering, Quality and Operations leadership. In addition, you will coordinate the resolution of company/department wide risks/obstacles to ensure manufacturing, supply chain, and delivery schedules are in alignment with customer needs. You will also be responsible for reporting key suppliers’ progress to operational initiatives at executive reviews with senior level leadership, both internal and external.
This is a remote position that must be focused is the NJ area.
What You Will Do:
Improve overall performance of attributed key suppliers using Collins continuous improvement program and tools.
Lead onsite assessments to assess supplier qualifications and drive overall supplier improvement including training and certifications
Assess and risk mitigate supplier capacity readiness by understanding Collins program needs, engaging key stakeholders, performing assessment, establishing, and tracking action plan.
Comprehend complex issues and overcome them through structured tactical and strategic activities
Establish partnerships at all levels within the supplier, emphasizing collaboration, clear expectations, common goals, trust, and transparency.
Identify risks and gaps in supplier manufacturing processes and develop sustainable gap closure plans.
Assist the supplier in establishing data / metrics to evaluate the health and stability of the manufacturing process
Must be willing and able to travel 70% (day travel) and 5% (overnight)
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
2+ years of prior experience in supply chain, quality, operations or engineering
2+ years of prior experience in a manufacturing environment
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience with root cause analysis or continuous improvement tools
Experience utilizing the APQP process (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
Prior experience from the aerospace industry

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
