Lead Mechanical Engineer, HVAC & Plumbing

KBR is looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer, HVAC & Plumbingto support multiple mechanical, HVAC and plumbing design efforts from conceptual design through construction support for Chemical and Biofuel clients. Your experience must include both industrial building HVAC and Plumbing systems, laboratory areas as well as process applications such as dust collection systems and vapor management systems. In-depth knowledge of industry codes is mandatory.
In this position, you will be developing scope of services, work hour estimates and schedules that role up into the overall Mechanical discipline. You will also supervise and lead a small group of engineers and designers.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Responsible for the Front-End Engineering and production design deliverables for large capital projects, TIC in excess of $100MM
Responsible for the oversight of other engineers and designers
Responsible for tracking and reporting on schedule status and earned value.
May be required to conduct vendor drawing reviews, client interface, model reviews, and related calculations.
Must have experience with development of project scope, work hour estimates, project budgets, schedules and mechanical construction deliverables. Shall be capable of working as a member of an integrated engineering team to produce a coherent, executable construction package.
Ability to be able to work independently as well as monitor / mentor more junior engineers to meet the required deliverables on one large project or several simultaneous smaller projects.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; Mechanical discipline preferred.
10+ years (minimum) of experience in industrial and commercial design of HVAC and Plumbing systems.
Professional Engineering License (P.E.) preferred.
Working Experience with the following:
Cooling towers, Chillers, Fans, Boilers, Pumps, AHUs, Heat Pumps, Humidification Systems, Hot Water Heaters.
Designing Clean Room Environments
Designing Dust Collection Systems
Design of plumbing systems including domestic hot/cold water lines and sanitary/waste lines.
Ventilation for potential hazard mitigation
Fluent with national codes and standards (ICC, ASHRAE, SMACNA, and NFPA)
HVAC Design Programs Including CHVAC, Trane Trace, AutoCAD and MicroStation.
Building Automation and Control Systems.
Working knowledge of other engineering disciplines and the ability to coordinate with them to meet design requirements.
Ability to travel as needed to survey client sites.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with supervisory experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Travel to client sites will comply with all KBR and Client Safety Rules, Processes and Procedures
Work at client sites may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as fire-retardant clothing, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots.
Work at client sites may require moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas, ascending/descending stairs, walking the client property.
This may include climbing ladders, lifting to up to 35 lbs., etc.
