Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position
As a Factory Automation Engineer for John Deere Dubuque Works located in Dubuque, IA, you will identify use cases and lead the deployment of appropriate vision inspection technology across the factory to reduce overhead costs and machine repair while improving product quality. In addition, you will:
- Leverage and share industrial vision inspection best practices across the factory, division, and enterprise.
- Support the financial justification, controls design, offline programming, and debugging of automated workstations being brought into the factory.

- Experience integrating industrial vision inspection solutions within a manufacturing environment
- Experience in automation & controls design, including each of the following:
- Applying controls design expertise to new production cell concepts
- Define complete Bill of Materials for new cell construction
- Drafting new schematics
- Completing off-line programming of components
- Debugging software upon production deployment
- A technical leader with a passion for innovation, communication, and teamwork
- Demonstrated ability to think beyond current state, apply emerging technologies to existing problems, and carry through to production implementation
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, weld or fabrication knowledge specifically
- Experience designing and programming Allen Bradley devices
- Experience with integration of industrial and/or collaborative robots into an automated workstation
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering discipline preferred.
