The Processing, Guidance & Control (PG&C) Center, within the Systems Engineering Directorate, consists of Signal Processing (SP), Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) and Modeling and Simulation disciplines. PG&C delivers key technologies to our effector programs portfolio. The Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) teams provide aerodynamic and autopilot designs, optimized system motion designs, and state estimation to facilitate mission guidance goals. The Signal Processing (SP) teams extract and exploit signals from both active and passive sensors to be used for acquiring, detecting, tracking, and classifying objects of interest. The Modeling Simulation Analysis (MSA) teams are responsible for product-level simulations that help us design, develop, verify, and validate our products and capabilities. Our simulations model the components and subsystems that make up our designs, and the world our products interact with.
The PG&C Center is currently hiring for a Performance, Algorithms, Software and Simulations IPT Leader for an Alternate Missions Program within the Advanced Technologies Strategic Business Unit. This role will help lead a cross-discipline team of more than 70 engineers executing all GNC, Software, Firmware, Signal Processing, Simulation and Performance tasks to ensure delivery of the system per program plan. The IPT structure will be influenced by the IPTL in collaboration with the Program Management Office, the Program Chief Engineer Office, PG&C leadership for execution aligned with program technical, cost, and schedule plans. The role requires leading a high visibility development program including frequent technical and programmatic interactions with the customer, technical community, platform and kill chain contractors and senior Raytheon leadership.
This position is located in Tucson, AZ and is an onsite role.
What You Will Do
- You will be responsible for the overall execution of the PASS IPT, drive IPT priorities, be accountable for cost and schedule execution
- You will influence the architecture of the system, establishing processes, and align RMD program leadership, office the of chief engineer, and multiple IPTs
- You will manage the development and integration of software products, algorithms, and simulations to deliver a production ready design within a challenging schedule.
- You will manage the technical and earned value performance of the PASS IPT, manage EAC for the IPT, coordinate with the program managers regarding cost, schedule and risk and opportunity management.
- You will provide leadership to the Sub-IPTs (GNC, SP, SW, and MSA) to ensure program alignment and teamwork.
- Interact and coordinate with customer community stakeholders, including acquisition and technical groups, to influence and guide the development of program mission requirements.
- You will provide leadership for IPT collaboration with functional partners from Engineering, Operations, Mission Assurance, Digital Technologies, and Global Supply Chain
- Provide mentoring and guidance to all team members.
- Apply extensive experience in task leadership and system level design, integration, test, and verification.
- The selected candidate will be required to obtain and maintain special access Program clearance (in addition to the required Top Secret clearance)
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 12 years of Systems Engineering or Software Engineering experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in missile system applications
- Experience managing and/or leading cross-disciplined teams in a technical capacity
- Experience using program management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and/or Risk and Opportunity Management.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

- Advanced Degree in STEM
- Experience leading in an Agile and DevOps development environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, across all levels of the organization and other engineering disciplines.
- Ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and customers regarding matters of significant importance.
- Ability to influence others to agree/accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.
- Demonstrated ability as an IPTL to drive design and development across the hardware, software and test organizations
- Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities, time, and resources to consistently meet demanding schedules.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
