We have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join our team with the Business Management Office.
The selected candidate will:
- Purchase, fully document, and assemble files for commercial purchase orders following company procedures and federal acquisition regulations
- Frequently utilize models or templates for use in awarding blanket purchase agreements for commercial items and services
- Utilize the company’s credit card to procure items at, or below, the government’s micro-purchase level
- Process, administer, and manage Intercompany Work Authorization (IWAs) for work between various company entities
- Process, administer, and manage Non-Disclosure Agreements that may also require coordination with the company’s Legal
- Routinely access, track, and evaluate suppliers’ quality and delivery performance
- Analyze market trends, follow up on orders placed, verify delivery, approve payment reconciliations, and maintain necessary records
- Prepare requests for proposal packages, evaluate proposals, and conduct negotiations of pricing and other provisions
- Take part in the initiation and subsequently perform small business outreach activities aimed at increasing small business participation
- Develop and maintain metrics and other required procurement and subcontract reports
- Perform other duties as required

Requisition Qualifications:
This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate’s experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area and normally possesses 3 years of work experience
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiar of Federal Acquisition Regulations and federal contracting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Requisition Preferences:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in an accredited four (4) year college or university program in a related area
- Prior experience working in a NASA environment and enterprise management systems
- Procurement experience working in the NASA environment.

Essential Functions
Work Environment
Generally, an office environment can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
Attendance
Regular attendance following an established work schedule is critical. The ability to work outside the normal schedule and adjust the schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
