The Opportunity
At Boeing our customers face an increasingly dynamic battlespace dominated by rapid change in technologies and threats faced. This environment requires a complex system of systems which in turn needs advanced approaches to ensuring that the needs of warfighters are met and that it will reliably function as intended in the circumstances faced.
We are seeking a talented technical leader to take these problems head on as part of drive the development of the next generation of Command, Control, Communications & Computers (C4) systems for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
In this role you'll apply a systems thinking approach to designing and executing a complex system of systems integration and verification program. Your expertise will shape the priorities and efforts of this work, including incorporation of COTS products in a military environment, modifications to existing systems and integration of new autonomous systems technologies
Responsibilities
Join our Battlespace Communications System (BCS) team in Brisbane and take responsibility for:
- Developing strategic approaches and plans for future complex integration & verification activities
- Guiding the detailed planning and conduct of verification activities
- Working with systems engineers and product designers to understand and influence system design and evolution
- Liaising with end users, customers, suppliers and other peer organizations to ensure that I&V work is well coordinated and addresses their needs and risks
Experience/Qualifications
To thrive in the role you should:
- Have a track record of delivering large programs of integration and verification work into a complex stakeholder environment, preferably for defence customers
- Have experience in designing and operating system integration labs and other environments
- Possess an engineering background in systems engineering and/or product engineering in the communications domain
- Desirably have specific experience in working with deployed land systems in challenging communications environments
- Desirably have experience in applying digital engineering/modelling and simulation techniques as part of complex verification campaigns
