Job Summary and Qualifications
The Clinical Data/ Core Measures Abstractor (CD/CMA) at WRMC is responsible for working collaboratively with all clinical departments. Core Measure abstracting, preparation of reports for the medical staff committees related to Core Measures, eCQMs and other quality measures.
The CD/CMA will work closely with the Concurrent Core Measure Reviewer to ensure core measures are abstracted appropriately and thoroughly and in the education of the clinical staff and physicians on the required documentation for core measures. The Data Abstractor will use the knowledge gained to recommend changes &/or enhancements to the clinical documentation system to improve documentation of all clinical data.
works with the Director of Quality Risk management to annually review and assess Clinically Certified Programs such as Cath Lab certification, Sleep Lab Certification, Stroke Certification, Trauma Certification, etc to assure maintenance with current standards and guidelines and to maintain facility certification status.
What qualifications you will need:
- Requires the person to be a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas.
- Must be able to pass chart abstractor proficiency exam
- Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience
- Experience in the abstraction of clinical data is preferred
- Experience in chart abstraction as it relates to CORE Measures data
- Knowledge in Joint Commission and CMS Conditions of Participation for Hospitals
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records
