Job Overview
The Regional Transport Planner is responsible for planning a fleet of trucks, trailers, and drivers in one area or region to ensure optimum productivity, service levels, and revenue. They must accomplish this while understanding and meeting the needs of our customers and drivers while staying in constant communication with multiple departments.
- Plans drivers via TMW accurately and timely while complying with federal motor carrier safety regulations (HOS), ensures drivers are planned and have accurate and timely information
- Establishes a good working relationship with each hub manager, and driver managers
- Communicates effectively and professionally with assigned customer service, field, and managed freight personnel on all levels while developing positive and solid relationships to enhance growth
- Communicates pick-up and delivery exceptions with hub manager, driver manager CSR, and other hubs that are affected
- Use of Microsoft excel and outlook
- Transportation (trucking) experience
- Can train for right candidate
- Ability to work under stress while remaining professional at all times
- Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented either verbally or in writing
- Ability to recognize, evaluate, and resolved problems
- Ability to communicate well with others
- Above-average writing skills and organizational skills
- Ability to take direction and follow-through
- Detailed oriented
