While taking direction from plant management, coordinates the development and hands-on implementation of a comprehensive industrial safety and environmental program for an Andersen business unit. Ensures the alignment with Enterprise Safety and Environmental Services objectives and safe procedures, awareness, and training are conducted with a goal to achieve continuous improvement for the reduction of work related injuries/ illness and related cost reduction strategies applicable in business unit, ensure strong environmental compliance (environmental compliance support varies by site). Achieve compliance obligations with applicable safety, health standards, and applicable environmental regulations
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • As they relate to a specific business unit, assists in the development and coordination of Andersen’s Safety and Environmental programs to achieve and maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local codes and regulations.• Provide and/or coordinate site specific safety and environmental training/testing (e.g. incident investigation, new employee orientation, lockout/tagout, powered industrial trucks, ergonomics, safety inspections, job safety analysis, audiometric testing ,LOTO, hazardous waste, stormwater, air compliance, spill response, etc.) as necessary and/or directed by Enterprise Safety and Environmental, or Plant Management in order to address hazards and comply with relevant standards.• Work with site manufacturing engineering to conduct safety assessments of new or modified equipment/processes in accordance with Andersen’s Safety Assessment Procedure. Participates with engineering in problem solving/resolution exercises• Create/customize detailed safety programs/procedures to meet site specific environment as needed and ensures availability of PPE• Assist in the completion of any environmental tasks, inspections and other environmental regulatory tasks as directed.• Conducts ergonomic assessments to identify risk factors and work with engineering to implement control measures to address identified ergonomic risk factors.• Supports location safety and environmental assessments (e.g. audits, inspections, accident investigations, etc.); with site management and recommends and assists in the execution of corrective actions. Trains auditors as needed.• Participate in coordination of plant safety committee and routine Enterprise Environmental calls and training.• Accurately maintains plant safety and environmental data and training records in accordance with established guidelines and regulations• Participates on and helps lead cross functional teams. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience.• A minimum of 2 years of safety-related and/or environmental management experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.• Knowledge of government regulations concerning health, safety & the environment. Knowledge of relevant equipment safety standards and hazard control measures.• Strong interpersonal/communication (verbal and written) skills• Demonstrated customer-orientation and collaborative approach• Facilitation Skills SALARY INFORMATION: Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. In addition to your pay, Andersen Corporation currently offers benefits such as comprehensive health benefits, 401k contribution, paid time off, 8 paid standard holidays, plus 2 floating holidays, a robust employee Wellbeing program, as well as profit sharing (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
