Program Summary
KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6,000 people representing 40 nationalities who perform work on the contract in 10 countries.
Job Summary
As a Cost Control Specialist, you will lead the forecasting, control, and reporting of project costs within our organization. Your role involves developing comprehensive project variances, conducting trending and expenditure analysis, and delivering completion reports. You will tackle complex problems, leveraging your in-depth knowledge of industry best practices in project controls to enhance processes.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop accurate and detailed project cost forecasts considering various factors like labor productivity, material prices, subcontracting, wage rates, and risk analysis.
- Conduct in-depth analysis to calculate future costs, providing valuable insights into project finances.
- Utilize problem-solving skills and experience to identify and implement improvements in project cost control processes.
- Enhance efficiency and effectiveness, contributing to the continuous improvement of project management practices.
- Provide guidance to less experienced team members, sharing your expertise in project controls.
- Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
- Review project costs by category, ensuring accuracy and compliance with budgetary constraints.
- Perform complex trending and expenditure analysis, offering strategic recommendations.
- Have to rapidly adapt to changing deadlines and pressures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree and at least 4 years of experience in project controls or cost management. An additional 4 years of directly related professional Cost experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Requires strong English proficiency (Level II) in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.
- Requires in-depth computer skills, with a preference for a programming background.
- Must be proficient in Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Must be self-motivated.
- Must be detail-oriented and have excellent business ethics.
- Requires a high level of professionalism and customer service.
- Requires effective communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of project management and within various departments.
- Requires a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.
