Lowe’s Summer Internship Program Overview
Lowe's 2025 Summer Internship Program offers a challenging, project-based opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to enhance their understanding of the retail business world through valuable, hands-on experience with a FORTUNE® 50 company. The internship will provide broad learning, experience, organizational knowledge, and business acumen. We are looking for:

The summer internship program begins with orientation on May 27th and concludes on August 1st. All internships are paid opportunities, and qualified interns will be eligible for Lowe's housing benefit.
Areas of Learning
- Conduct research and perform analysis relating to various areas of the law and legal topics including consumer, construction, advertising, employment, and privacy laws and cases, commercial contracts, regulations potentially impacting Lowe's business, and legal proceedings related to Lowe's, Lowe's vendor partners, and the retail industry.
- Prepare memoranda, summaries, and other content to effectively communicate research and analysis results to the in-house Legal Department or business clients.
Litigation
- Research and advise on litigation issues and strategy.
- Assist in reviewing, analyzing, and suggesting edits to pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings.
Real Estate
- Provide legal review and negotiation support for real property agreements and ancillary issues.
Transactions
- Provide legal review and negotiation support for a variety of contracts, including supplier agreements, transportation and logistics agreements, technology agreements, services agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and purchase agreements. Research ancillary issues.
Intellectual Property
- Assist in the management, procurement, and enforcement of Lowe’s domestic and international intellectual property portfolio, consisting of trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets.
- Gain familiarity with a best-in-class IP docketing system.
- Advise on availability of slogans, trademarks, and tag lines for use in commerce.
Corporate Law
- Gain exposure to corporate governance and public company matters facing one of the largest companies in the United States.
Employment Law
- Research and provide compliance guidance regarding the ever-changing regulatory landscape of labor and employment law, including reviewing federal, state, and local laws and ordinances, guidance from regulatory agencies, pending legislation, proposed regulations, and court decisions.
Compliance and Ethics
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of legal developments, including proposed legislation, court decisions, enforcement actions, and other regulatory activity relevant to the company’s operations.
- Develop and update internal policies and training programs on matters related to ethics, anti-corruption, and regulatory compliance.
Education and/or Experience
- Pursuing a JD with expected graduation date of May 2028
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required
- Proficient in MS Office Programs (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access)
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and communication skills are required
- Relevant internship and retail experience is a plus, as is experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization
