The Engineer is responsible for planning, evaluating the technical quality assurance and testing of the shipboard Exterior Communication (EXCOM) and voice and satellite communications equipment (HF, UHF, and VHF radios; Link 4, 11, 16 terminals; SATCOM equipment; cryptographic equipment; antennas; etc). As a Senior Engineer, the individual will be backup to the LM Lead for the work center.
The individual will be responsible for Handling
Keymat/receipt/loading/inventory and destruction for Exterior Communication (EXCOM) systems testing and Aegis Weapons System testing.
*US Citizenship is required. Qualified candidate must be able to obtain an Interim DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to starting this position with the ability to obtain a final Top Secret DoD Security Clearance.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree. Considered career, or journey, level.
• At least 3 yrs. experience with Aegis, Coast Guard or LHA Lockheed Martin centric network platforms. (EXCOM)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to travel up to 15%
• Candidate will be required on an infrequent basis to go underway on units and to frequently work on moored pier-side units. Physical ability to navigate steep stairs and ladders as well as work in confined spaces is a requirement.

Desired Skills:
• Military computer system Platform experience (i.e., Aegis, LCS, LHA, Coast Guard), with a EXCOM focus.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, to isolate problem to root cause.
• Shipboard troubleshooting experience
• Demonstrated ability to own the process and move forward with minimal direction
• Self-Starter
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
