Job Summary and Qualifications
Under the general supervision of the Director of Pre Admit and the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the EKG tech is responsible for cleaning, maintaining and stocking areas in a safe, neat manner, and assisting in moving and transporting patients. Performing Vital signs, EKGs, drawing labs, weighing and measuring patients. moving equipment as needed. Restocking and ordering supplies.
- Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, cleans area after each patient.
- Assists in transporting patients to the Operating Room, to the floor, or to their vehicle as needed.
- Ensures adequate amounts of equipment and supplies in collaboration with Director, with re-ordering and re-stocking as needed.
Utilizes specialized knowledge and skills in the collection and processing of laboratory samples.
Performs 12-lead EKG testing.
Provides clerical duties related to job.
Maintains patient logs in designated areas.
Will collect lab and blood samples
Other duties as assigned
What qualifications you will need:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required
- A minimum of 1 year Phlebotomy experience required (be familiar with lab collections and blood cultures); No new grads
- A minimum of 1 year EKG experience required; No new grads
- Must be able to work 2-3 days per week, 10 hour shifts (8:00 am - 6:30 pm)
- Must be able to work a Monday
- Must be able to transport patients throughout the facility for diagnostic testing
