Job Description
The Information Security Specialist is responsible for independently performing operational monitoring and triage of security alerts generated from tools including network and endpoint intrusion detection tools such as NDR, NIDS, HIDS, firewall, network, and system/event logs. Actions are guided by Standard Operating Procedures and activities will require minimal direction/oversight from management. Participates in process and procedure development and engages with other information security and information technology teams to resolve cybersecurity events and perform Identity and Access Management provisioning, consulting, and incident triage.
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there’s an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days at one of the following locations:
- Cincinnati, OH
- Minneapolis, MN
- Charlotte, NC
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- College degree or equivalent industry experience and certifications
- Three to five years of relevant experience in cybersecurity
Responsibilities:
- Document security policies and procedures, ensuring comprehensive coverage of security-related activities and requirements.
- Support risk assessment and data security procedures and products by providing implementation support and ensuring their effectiveness.
- Evaluate new and proposed security systems and technologies, staying updated with industry advancements and best practices.
- Support Active Directory provisioning and lead projects
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance.
- Participate in on-call rotations and implementation projects that may involve work outside normal working hours.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Advanced working experience in active directory including creating ad objects, understanding, least privilege security principals, DFS and folder permissions, PowerShell, excel, and basic server management.
- At least seven years of experience with the processes, tools, techniques and practices for assuring adherence to quality standards associated with developing, enhancing and operationalizing application systems and databases
- Ability to communicate clearly; orally and written, with all levels of staff and management on the topic of cryptographic key management
- Experience with AWS, GCP and Azure (preferred)
- Basic understanding of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography and their respective key management practices (preferred)
- Proficiency in Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) and their application in key management.
- Excellent organizational skills and a proven ability to write technical documentation effectively. Detailed project management skills

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $102,340.00 - $120,400.00 - $132,440.00
