As a Senior Category Manager – Commodities Procurement at WK Kellogg Co (WKKC), you will have the opportunity to lead sugar and corn sourcing strategy development and execution for our cereal business. You’ll use your procurement experience to partner with suppliers to deliver flawless supply execution while maximizing value to WKKC. In this role we are looking for a strategic and analytical thinker who’s successful at stakeholder engagement, with a drive for success who plays to win in the strategic sourcing space; if this sounds like you, grrr-eat!
HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Ingredient Category Strategy & Execution – You’ll develop category strategies by interacting with internal stakeholders and external suppliers with a focus on the future state. You’ll execute the strategy by engaging with internal cross-functional partners and building relationships with external suppliers and industry experts while adhering to current processes and recommending improvements to standard processes.
- Focus on Cost Reduction – In this role, you will develop category strategies and execute RFPs and gain cross functional alignment prior to execution. You will develop cost reduction strategies based on stakeholder budgets and forecasting for the category. You will also execute RFP’s with national and regional implementation plans.
- Financial Analytics – Review weekly risks and opportunities as market dynamics change. Submit forecast updates and cause of change per finance calendar needs including category outlook, purchase price variance drivers, category coverage, and risks and opportunities.
- Supplier Relationship Management – Maintain and improve supplier partner performance. Monitor implementation of new contract terms. Review supplier scorecard and oversee performance within your categories.
- Sustainability & Responsible Sourcing – You will support the sustainability strategy for your categories
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
- Bachelor degree REQUIRED
- Experience in exchange traded commodities is REQUIRED; Sugar or grain experience is a PLUS.
- Analytical skills to forecast risks / opportunities in dynamic commodity space
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strategic sourcing, long-term strategy development, risk management, RFP execution, negotiations, supplier selection and management, innovation, operations, cost reductions, and cash flow.
