The Financial Analyst forecasts, controls, and reports project costs needed within an organization. Develops and provides project variances, trending and analysis of expenditures, and completion reports. Reviews project costs incurred by category, calculates future costs based on labor productivity, material price increases, subcontract, wage rates and risk analysis. Under general supervision, solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices in project controls. Uses experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes. May provide guidance to less experienced team members. Skills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree and 0-5 years of experience.
Applicant will be primarily responsible for Program Planning and Control for NASA ESOC and xEVAS programs. Responsibilities include:
- Develop and provide project variances, trending and analysis of expenditures, and completion reports.
- Develop price/cost estimates utilizing established pricing concepts and applications.
- Prepare forecasts using program resource estimates with appropriately applied rates and factors.
- Track invoices for days outstanding
- Assist in the production of the NASA 533 and/or other financial deliverables per contract requirements cost variances.
- Knowledge of project management, scheduling and control account planning concepts.
- Application of FAR, CAS and government accounting standards.
- Assist in developing presentations and reports for internal and external customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business and 0-5 years minimum related experience in cost control role.
Additional Qualifications:
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced Excel skills. POWER BI Knowledge.
- Deltek Suite (Costpoint, COBRA).
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
