Job Summary
Under general supervision, and occasional direct supervision, performs assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard concepts within project controls for the preliminary or definitive estimates for projects. Displays core competencies by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures while developing advanced skills. Skills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree and 4+ years of experience.
Roles and Responsibilities
Sr. Cost Control Analyst responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Conduct detailed analysis of project and financial data, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, with emphasis on EAC, variance, and trend analysis.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of internal and external reporting requirements, and validate project costs, including labor and non-labor expenses.
- Review and approve purchase requisitions, and maintain control over the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and charge numbers.
- Analyze program funding requirements, maintain financial control logs, track funding availability, and provide accurate financial status reports.
- Support the development of program plans and estimates, establish contract baseline budgets, and maintain records for audits.
- Reconcile costs and performance data weekly, monthly, and cumulatively, and import/reconcile monthly budgets and forecasts.
- Oversee subcontractor expenditures, track costs and fees against budget, and analyze cost trends for accurate accruals.
- Develop presentations and metrics for internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating high customer focus.
- Lead process improvement initiatives, develop training materials, and mentor junior analysts.
- Perform complex accounting and analytical tasks, including transaction processing, account reconciliation, and analysis of financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Accounting or related field and 5 years of applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working on the LOGCAP Program.
- Proficient in Cost Point, Cognos, OnBase, Deltek and Workday.
- Cobra experience a plus.
- Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain upon hire.
- Experience with and knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
