Leidos’ Health Solutions BD organization is looking for a highly motivated individual to fill the Capture Excellence SME position. This position is responsible for supporting Health Solutions’ priority captures across the Leidos Win Plan, Leidos’ methodology for qualifying, pursuing and winning business. This support increases the PWin of opportunities, increases capture quality by facilitating workshops, and increases efficiencies.
Capture Excellence SMEs are assigned to coach the capture managers across Health Solutions priority captures. They work hands on with the capture manager and the capture team to develop win strategies, win themes, executive summaries, solution strategies, and eventual winning proposals. The Capture Excellence SME helps ensure the Leidos Win Plan process encompasses best and innovative practices as well as lessons learned.
The main activity for the Capture Excellence SME is the facilitation of capture workshops during the Win Plan. Capture Excellence SMEs are not passive participants in the Win Plan process: as a facilitator, they lead the team in the brainstorming activities that ultimately result in the story, strategy and themes that will discriminate Leidos. Capture Excellence SMEs utilize facilitation skills that are part science and part art to challenge capture teams and pull the winning information from workshop participants.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support full Win Plan activities for critical and priority captures
- Support capture teams in the tailoring of the Win Plan for a specific capture
- On-demand training to assist capture teams with Win Plan knowledge gaps
- Provide teams with best practices associated with capture artifact development to ensure effective integration of win themes, customer hot buttons, and discriminators
- Facilitate Win Plan workshops including
- Incumbentitis Workshops
- Win Theme Workshops
- Collaboration Sessions
- Independent Strategy Reviews (ISRs)
- Section-Level Strategy Workshops
- Annotated Mock-Ups (AMUs)
- Proposal Color Reviews
- Develop and presenting Win Plan training materials
- Support the Win Plan methodology as it grows and improves
- Develop new methods for increasing PWin
- Develop new methods for increasing capture efficiency
- Develop new methods for reducing Win Plan timelines
Basic Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a combination of 15+ years of experience
- 8+ years of business development work experience
- Expert knowledge of the business development lifecycle
- Strong experience as either a capture manager or proposal manager
- Experience with facilitating workshops or reviews
- Competent with process improvement techniques and principles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sound decision-making and prioritization skills
- Superior planning, scheduling and coordinating skills
- An upbeat, positive, outgoing and personable demeanor with the ability to interact and relate well with Health Solutions BD, Line, SA and capture managers
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a commitment to completion of projects on a timely basis
- A desire to learn and work within a team environment
- Some local travel outside of the Reston VA area will be required to support reviews
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
- Must be a US citizen

Pay Range:
Pay Range $144,300.00 - $260,850.00
