Subcontracts Supervisor
Job Description
Performs full range of procurement and administration activities associated with subcontracting work. Qualifies suppliers, issues requests for proposals, evaluates proposals, maintains subcontract files in accordance to established procedures. Under limited supervision, uses specialized knowledge or skills to solve complex and unique problems, or direct the daily activities of a business, technical support, or functional support team. Establishes priorities for the completion of assigned tasks. Uses judgment to interpret internal and external issues and develop best practices. May direct resources, prioritize tasks and provide guidance to less experienced team members. Relies upon experience, interpersonal skills, and broad knowledge of field to ensure task completion in compliance with policies, procedures, and business strategy. Skills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree and 10+ years of experience.
Position Description/Job Responsibilities
- Under limited supervision, actively participate in managing and administering Contractors engaged in construction activities for Energy & Chemical industry
- Facilitates communication between Client, Company and Contractors and manages all Contract documents including the day-to-day pre-award and post-award administration of subcontracts
- Pre-award activities include qualifies potential bidders, assembles and issues Invitations To Bid thru company's Contract Management system and assists with commercial & technical bid evaluations through contract award
- Post-Award activities will include finalization and award of contracts, daily management during execution including communications, invoicing, status reports and contract close out
- Serve as interim Subcontracts Lead in dealing with Client, Project Team, and other KBR departments as needed.
- If assigned, candidate must be able to complete the site assignment under the Terms and Conditions set forth by KBR
Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science, Engineering, Industrial Distribution, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain Management or Business Administrations, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience in Subcontracts formation and administration
- Must have excellent communication and writing skills, attention to detail and commercial/risk awareness
