Business Development (BD) INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) INTERNSHIPnnMILITARY FRIENDLY & SKILLBRIDGE SPONSORnnZermount Inc. is seeking a motivated Business Development (BD) Information Technology (IT) intern who is ready to provide their knowledge of IT practices and processes in a fast-paced, real-world environment, and provide support to the IT Team. The Intern will assist in supporting the IT team with the maintenance or hardware, software, and other systems. As well as troubleshooting issues with equipment like printers, computers, and servers. The intern could also run software updates and backups when requested. This will be a valuable experience for any student pursuing a career in the cybersecurity field.nDuties & ResponsibilitiesnnBasic Cybersecurity knowledge: understanding of fundamental cybersecurity concepts, including confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA triad), common threats, and security best practices.nNetwork Fundamentals: Familiarity with network protocols, architectures, and basic network security principles.nOperating Systems: Proficiency in common operating systems such as Windows, Linux, or macOS, including basic system administration tasks.nSecurity Tools: Exposure to cybersecurity tools and software such as antivirus, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and vulnerability scanners.nSecurity Awareness: A strong understanding of social engineering tactics, phishing awareness, and the ability to recognize potential security risks.nBasic Scripting and Programming: Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) and programming concepts, which can be valuable for automation and security tasks.nCybersecurity Frameworks: Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks like NIST Cybersecurity Framework or CIS Controls and their application.nSecurity Policies and Procedures: Understanding of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and compliance requirements relevant to the organization.nIncident Response: Basic knowledge of incident response procedures and the ability to assist in handling security incidents.nSecurity Awareness Training: Completion of basic cybersecurity awareness training programs.nSupport the IT team in maintaining hardware, software, and other systems.nAssist with troubleshooting issues and provide technical support.nOrganize and maintain IT resources.nProvide technical support in response to user requests for service.nAssist with troubleshooting IT issues, provide technical support, and help develop IT solutions.nMonitor antivirus software and update and repair computers infected with spyware, adware, viruses, etc.nLend IT support in areas such as cybersecurity, programming, analytics, and data center management.nDevelop and provide user training for basic hardware and software use.nWork on ad-hoc projects such as software development and implementationnConduct research on industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging cybersecurity threats to support business development efforts.nAssist in the development and writing of technical proposals for cybersecurity projects, ensuring they are clear, concise, and compelling.nAnalyze data related to business development activities, including market research, client feedback, and proposal success rates.nWork closely with business development, technical, and project management teams to gather necessary information and insights for proposal development.nAssist in the creation and maintenance of documentation related to business development and IT activities.nSupport client engagement efforts by preparing materials for meetings, presentations, and other client interactions.nTrack and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to business development and IT activities.nParticipate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in IT, cybersecurity, and business development.nnQualificationsnnPursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management of Information Systems, or related fieldnFamiliar with Java, .NET, JavaScript or HTML/DHTML and Microsoft Office SuitenStrong verbal and written communicationnExcellent analytical and critical thinking skillsnAbility to work well in teams.nStrong work ethic and attention to detailnProficient with Microsoft Office Suite.nAbility to maintain confidentiality and credibility.nnEducationnnPursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.nCybersecurity Courses: Completion of relevant coursework of certifications related to cybersecurity, such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Associate, or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) Associate.nGAP: A solid academic record, often with a minimum GPA requirement set by the employer or educational institution.nProjects and Labs: Participation in cybersecurity projects, labs, or extracurricular activities that demonstrate practical skills and a passion for the field.nBasic Certifications: Possession of entry-level certifications like CompTIA Security+ or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Associate can be a plus.nHands-On Experience: Experience gained through coursework, personal projects, or part-time work that involves cybersecurity tasks.nInterest in Learning: A strong desire to learn, adapt, and stay updated with the evolving cybersecurity landscape.nnWork LocationnZermount Corporate Headquarters in Arlington, Virginia.nHours of OperationnnBusiness Hours: 8:00 am EST -
