The Mission Systems Operations Contract (MSOC) is looking for a qualified candidate to support a variety of training operations activities in support of human spaceflight endeavors. The tasks include configuring and operating the Mission Training Center (MTC) Training Systems (TS) in support of training for MCC flight controllers, crew members, and other support personnel for future space mission objectives. The role also involves testing of new TS capabilities, recording events experienced during training sessions, and responding to system failures that impact training activities. The Training Operations team supports different shift times as required, so the candidate should be able to work odd shifts and some weekends on a periodic basis.
Basic Qualifications:
The candidate must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major study in engineering, aerospace, mathematics, or computer science. The candidate must have excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, teamwork, technical, and organizational skills. The candidate must be able to work in a dynamic environment that requires multi-tasking, the ability to operate effectively under stress, and the ability to learn rapidly. Strong interpersonal skills including excellent verbal and written communication abilities are required for this position. Candidates must be able to apply technical knowledge and operations concepts to exercise effective decision making in a fast-paced operational environment. Candidate must be able to grasp and react to the changing priorities of a given operational situation.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with current NASA human spaceflight activities and proposed future space vehicles is desired. Understanding of a variety of computer networks and computer systems is desired. This position requires multi-tasking skills and the ability to work independently. Excellent interpersonal communications skills are necessary. The candidate should be energetic and eager to tackle new tasks and ideas. The candidate should be proficient in office computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
