Lowe's 2025 Summer Internship Program offers a challenging, project-based opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to enhance their understanding of the retail business world through valuable, hands-on experience with a FORTUNE® 50 company. The internship will provide broad learning, experience, organizational knowledge, and business acumen. We are looking for:

The summer internship program begins with orientation on May 27th and concludes on August 1st. All internships are paid opportunities. Qualified interns will be eligible for Lowe's housing benefit.
Quality Assurance Test Lab Engineering Intern:
The Quality Assurance team is responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing the completion of product test requests (regulatory, quality comparison/improvement, product assembly reviews, packaging integrity). This includes responsibility for test plan and method development, physical test execution, and report writing to include findings and recommendations for quality improvement through corrective actions. This role ensures that products performance meets customer expectations and risk avoidance.
Areas of Learning:
Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing process improvement skills.
Technical Writing: Developing clear and concise documentation that effectively communicates complex processes.
Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in procedures and minimizing potential errors in lab operations.
Research Skills: Gathering information from various sources to create comprehensive and effective SOPs.
Organization: Structuring documentation logically and maintaining an organized repository for easy access.
Communication: Collaborating with lab personnel and conveying information clearly to diverse audiences.
Project Management: Planning, executing, and tracking the progress of the SOP development project.
Problem-Solving: Identifying challenges in existing procedures and finding practical solutions.
Technical Proficiency: Gaining hands-on experience with lab equipment and understanding operational nuances.
Training and Facilitation: Developing materials for training sessions and potentially leading workshops for staff.
Feedback Incorporation: Learning how to gather and implement user feedback to improve documentation and processes.
Lab Equipment: Hands-on experience using industry test equipment to perform tasks such as cycle testing, measuring tensile strength, expediting rust, simulating rain, drop testing, hot/cold cycling, and more.
Education and/or Experience:
Currently pursuing bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering or related fields from an accredited university with expected graduation dates of December 2026 or May of 2027
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required
Proficient in MS Office Programs (specifically Word, Excel, and Power Point)
Experience with Mechanical and Electrical Test Equipment, testing lab environment
Experience with Project management, Technical report writing, Strong written and verbal communication skills, Working on cross-functional teams
Strong collaborative, innovative, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills are required
Relevant internship and experience is a plus, as is experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization
