Work Environment:
- Location: On-site at Kirtland AFB, NM
- Travel Requirements: 25% or Less Minimal Travel
- Working Hours: Standard 40 hours per week
Required:
- Clearance: Top Secret with the ability to obtain SCI, SAP, and Polygraph.
- Minimum ten (10) years DoD/IC, or relevant industry work experience.
- Expert knowledge in design, development, and testing of satellite flight software/firmware.
- Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) experience in Linux and VxWorks.
- Vehicle-wide knowledge of space vehicle systems (e.g., avionics, command & data handling, timeline/vehicle management, power, communications, guidance, navigation, and control).
- Experience with NASA Core Flight System (cFS) software.
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop integration and testing.
- Experience in real-time safety-critical flight software development.
- Understanding of low-level hardware interfaces (RS422, LVDS, SpW, etc.).
- Experience with establishing agile software development and test environments and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
Education:
- An applicable engineering or computer science degree from a program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
- Relevant MA/MS/ME degree
- (Desired) PhD in engineering or computer science.
Desired:
- Fifteen (15) years of relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience.
- System Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to Government program office.
- Experience working in multiple classification environments and implementing cross-domain solutions.
- Experience in DoD program management including program development and transition.
- Experience with Integrated Master Schedules, and risk management.
- Experience with rapid prototyping and transition to operations.
- Experience with ACAT I/II level acquisition programs.
