This position supports the Army Prepositioned Stocks – 4 Program located in Camp Carroll, Korea. The heavy-wheel mechanic will comply with all applicable safety and environmental regulations, local safety policies, and KBR’s Zero Harm program.
Job Summary
Heavy-Wheel mechanic is responsible for inspecting and validating in one or more of the following commodities; Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Family of Vehicles such as M-ATV, MaxxPro Dashes, RG Series, Cougars and other heavy wheeled tactical vehicles maintained on APS-4 project including Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV); inspects quality in the conduct of work associated with engineering changes, MWOs, MAMs and SOUMs; works closely with management, supervisor, and mechanics in improving the quality process of maintenance operations; ensures proper use of automated maintenance systems and the accurate completion of documentation related to maintenance; proactively discovers, analyzes, resolves discrepancies, weak points and bottlenecks within the operation by utilizing scheduled and unscheduled inspections, quality metrics, six sigma methodology and ISO 9001:2015 QMS; ensures required plans, procedures, work instructions and quality records are developed, maintained and followed by operational personnel; performs other duties as assigned.
Roles and Responsibilities
Ability to work from technical manuals, work instructions, and work orders.
Be able to provide a basic tool set equal to a General Mechanics Tool Set.
Ability to use maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, wiring diagrams, and relevant technical and parts manuals.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must have a favorable adjudication of an NACI background check.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a base access.
Must have a valid U.S. Passport.
Must have a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator License.
Must provide documentation to qualify as US EXPAT Invited Contractor Status and SOFA Visa IAW USFK 700-19 Regulation.
Must have a minimum of High School/GED plus five years of directly related work experience in maintaining and repairing M1A2SEPv2, M109A6 and/or M60 AVLB.
May also require knowledge of oilfield services equipment operation and maintenance.
Requires a certification from a vocational school or other recognized source such as a military service.
Must be able to work from technical manuals, work instructions and work orders.
Must provide a basic tool set equal to a General Mechanics Tool Set.
Must be able to use maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, wiring diagrams and relevant technical and parts manuals.
Must be able to work in a non‐temperature-controlled environment, heat, and humidity.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds to waist level and 35 pounds to shoulder height.
Must be able to work in confined spaces.
Must pass initial and periodic drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Individual Training with a focus in track vehicle maintenance is preferred.
Certification from a vocational school or other recognized source such as a military service-related Advanced Individual Training focused on track vehicle maintenance is preferred.
