What You Will Do:
- Lead with Expertise: You’ll provide technical leadership, guiding the team with your deep knowledge of Java software development.
- Champion DevOps & Agile: Embrace and apply DevOps and Agile principles to drive efficiency and collaboration within the team.
- Be a Scrum Star: Actively participate in Scrum Agile events, engaging with team members to foster a collaborative environment.
- Build Brilliant Software: Use your engineering skills to analyze, design, and develop innovative software solutions that meet business needs.
- Set the Standard: Follow and promote established coding standards, best practices, and automation techniques to deliver top-quality software.
- Solve Problems: Identify and fix technical issues in software, using your problem-solving skills to enhance performance and reliability.
- Automate Testing: Implement automated unit and integration tests to ensure the software behaves as expected throughout the build process.
- Mentor & Grow: Share your knowledge by mentoring other developers, providing feedback, and helping to elevate the team’s technical expertise.
What you will need to have:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferably Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent combination of experience, education and military.
- 6+ years of experience in designing, developing, delivering, and supporting software applications.
- 6+ years of experience with modern programming and scripting languages (Java/Spring Boot, Microservices).
- 6+ years of experience with datastores and database queries.
- Experience working with DevOps, CI/CD, GitOps, and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with using Git to manage changes to the codebase, including branching and merging practices.
What would be great to have:
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation, particularly with GitLab CI.
- Familiarity with Docker for building images.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and cloud-native software development.
- Foundational knowledge of Kubernetes and Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks like Helm.
- Exposure to AWS Cloud Services, with AWS certification being a plus.
