The Operating Company:
Bearings Plus (BPI) sets the standard for the engineering, manufacture and repair of fluid film bearings and sealing solutions, servicing the fast turnaround needs of the petrochemical plants along the Gulf Coast, Bearings Plus has its roots deep in the rotating machinery industry and has established itself as a leader in the design, manufacture, and servicing of fluid film bearings and seals.
The Position:
Based at the Dover Corporation site in Pearland TX, you will support the Operations Manager in the smooth and efficient running of the Bearings Plus shop and repair facility. You will create and manage the master production plan, capacity plans and forecasts, undertake materials and resource scheduling and routing and coordinate plant operations activities as they relate to the production plan.
What You Will Bring:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience being responsible for scheduling and routing within mechanical manufacturing
- Ideally having worked within a Job Shop, or high mix / low volume type environment
- Experience of fully utilizing an ERP system for planning and scheduling ideally having used Infor Syteline
- Advanced level of skill in using Microsoft Excel in scheduling
- Experience in a machining environment (knowledge of mills and CNC Machines) is desirable
- Ability to work closely with the Buyer to ensure product lead times are met
- A flexible approach to be able to adapt to changing demands and adjust the production plan to meet the demands
What You Will Do:
- Interface with sales to determine the product forecast in addition to providing feedback on delivery capabilities during the initial quoting phase
- Analyze the forecast to determine potential for smoothing the production plan
- Analyze manufacturing capacity constraints and their impact on the master production plan
- Provide information to customer service regarding order status
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to lower inventory, reduce stock outs and to produce more accurate schedules
- Schedule and plan on quick job cycles while having the capability of absorbing emergency repair work into the production schedule with minimal effects on overall delivery projections
- For manufacture/repair orders, prepare schedule to accommodate availability of personnel, equipment and materials
- Review and execute routers and releases to floor with necessary prints
- Release materials needed on orders from stock room or staging areas
- Work closely with floor personnel on material issues and changing schedules to reduce set-up times
