The Director of Projects is responsible for leading a team of professionals in an operating area who are accountable for scoping, planning and delivering projects that are safe, cost competitive and meet budget, schedule, customer quality and operability expectations. The ability to collaborate with our customers and business partners, administer consistent processes, standards and procedures and have a passion for continuous improvement and competitive project delivery are keys to success!

Responsibilities/Expectations:
- Nurtures positive relationships with key business partners and leaders
- Coordinates workforce planning and career development activities for direct employees
- Oversees commitment and adherence to project lifecycle, including control of capital spend and progress of key performance metrics; provides support for volume and capital forecasting and planning
- Develops and implements consistent processes, standards and procedures
- Assigns project teams and prioritizes resources
- Develops program and project objectives to align with our business needs, including project charters and project execution plans
- Develops and carries out construction procurement and contracting strategies
- Ensures design and construction standards are met
- Develops/handles budgets, plan and forecasts; conducts regular cost analysis
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an industry related field; a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in project management, engineering, operations or related support field; previous experience managing or leading teams across multiple fields focused on acquiring or developing major projects
- Preferred: PE and/or PMP License
Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:
- May be required to travel 25% - 50% to support projects and maintain face to face interactions across office and project locations
Other Requirements:
- Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
- Possess a full understanding and use of the Project Life Cycle
- Previous experience in either project/program management, engineering/planning or project support like project controls
- Preferred: Additional experience in operations, planning project analysis, project management or engineering
- Preferred: Familiar with business intelligence tools and financial system applications
Additional Responsibilities:
- Supports tactical maintenance capital projects for pipeline, facilities, storage upgrades, equipment replacements, and integrity maintenance located in the Eastern U.S. & Gulf of Mexico region
- Works closely with local and regional operations and field engineering teams to ensure project alignment with local needs
