Universal Pictures New Zealand is a division of NBCUniversal. For almost a century, Universal has been known for its diverse slate of films, including classics such as Jaws, the Jurassic Park series, Mamma Mia, Fast and Furious and Bourne. Universal Pictures is also the distributor for Warner Bros. theatrical films in New Zealand.
This role will assist the Universal Pictures NZ marketing team across all facets of the business including Media, Promotions, Publicity, Social, Partnerships, Creative & Exhibition. We have a big line up of films in 2025 including Minecraft, Michael, How To Train Your Dragon (live action), F1, Jurassic World Rebirth, Superman, and Wicked Part Two – each of which requires their own unique strategy and campaign, and your role will be assisting in delivering best in class marketing campaigns across our entire film slate.
This is a part time role requires a 9-month commitment, as this program is from March 2025 - Dec 2025

Job Description
Admin / General Marketing Duties:
- Attend weekly Marketing & Media WIPs
- Actively contribute to campaign ideas and brainstorms
- Report into the Media & Promotions Manager, and supporting the wider team across Publicity, Partnerships, Creative, Social & Exhibition
- Attend film screenings on an ad hoc basis – you will get to see films early before release!
- Chasing and collating proof of in-market advertising, TV Spotlists, and post campaign analysis from agency partners
- Managing merch orders for upcoming films
- Assist in pulling together presentations for both internal and head-office stakeholders
- Proof-reading documents
- Undertake any research needed for a campaign
- Set up the Marketing Brief templates, copy + pasting in any relevant information from head office strategy docs
- General administrative assistance as required
Creative:
- Downloading and organising film trailers for viewing sessions, and assisting in creative selection
Exhibition:
- Release day checks across exhibitor websites and social channels
- Develop social plans and roll out with exhibition
Publicity
- General administrative and event support at screenings and premiere events on an ad hoc basis
- Assist in collation and organization of PR/Influencer send-outs
Qualifications
- Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Excel
- Adobe Photoshop or Canva experience would be advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail
- Well organized with great prioritization skills
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Excellent communication and a great team player
- Creative
- Passionate about the film & movies
- Currently undertaking university study in a marketing-based discipline
