Conference Services Coordinator Technician - Upper Concourse Day Services
The Conference Services Coordinator Technician role will be primarily dedicated to the Upper Concourse Meeting Space of Plaza One. In this position, the Technician will be involved in ensuring excellent execution of the conference center experience, overseeing the general success of each meeting and overall operation of the center.
This is a fully customer facing and focused position and requires the ability to always maintain a professional presence. This position will be office based and work standard business hours, however, due to the nature of the work, extended hours may be required periodically. Will report to a leader within the CRE Work Environment Experience Team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform room setups- ensure a consistent look:
- Ability to respond to last minute request- layout changes, extra chairs, easels/flip charts, drop and runs
- Awareness of schedules and ability to proactively and timely flip rooms that have two meetings in the same day.
- Cover Upper Concourse Front Concierge Desk
- Assist with troubleshooting of conference room AV issues
- Spot cleaning, reporting maintenance issues, perform minor maintenance.
- Execute world-class hospitality standards in accordance with the Nationwide values
- Build a strong relationship with key partners such as food service, audiovisual, security, maintenance, janitorial and more
- Respond professionally to the Nationwide Associate and internal requests, accommodating to the best of your ability

As a Technician, you'll provide facility maintenance services and operations including plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical maintenance, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) maintenance and operations, housekeeping and landscape/grounds maintenance.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Performs maintenance service and repairs in a specialized technical and skilled trade for the Nationwide’s facilities (see detailed responsibilities by skilled trades below)
Ensures maximum operational efficiency of facilities and equipment, as well as handles all support equipment.
Ensures all systems, including utility infrastructure, are fully operational and inspected according to accepted standards and practices, including preventive maintenance schedules.
Remains familiar with and follows all federal, state and local safety and environmental laws and regulations.
Responsibilities by specialized technical and skilled trade:
Landscape/Day Service: Assists in the coordination and performance of landscape maintenance duties as directed by a supervisor, to include maintenance of mechanical equipment and irrigation systems, and coordinating and performing snow removal.
Structural: responsible for carpentry, masonry and painting functions for facilities.
Electrical: responsible for the layout, assembly, installation, testing, repair and adjustment of electrical distribution and wire communications systems as well as electrical fixtures, apparatus, equipment and wiring such as motors, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers and transformers.
HVAC Operations: responsible for HVAC maintenance, including assisting with customer service requests, including, but not limited to, hot calls, cold calls, odor complaints, testing and inspection of water and life safety systems (sprinklers, fire pumps, emergency generators, etc.), administers chemical treatment programs, assists with maintenance, fire systems and emergency calls.
Plumbing: responsible for plumbing, refrigeration and mechanical systems of facilities.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Supervisor/Manager. This is an individual contributor role.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: At least two years of proven related work experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: General knowledge of specialized technical and skilled trade to include HVAC, mechanical and life safety systems. General knowledge of all codes, principles and techniques associated with installation, maintenance, repair and operation of HVAC mechanical systems and devices. Knowledgeable in mechanical test equipment. May have experience and skills in carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical maintenance, plumbing, HVAC maintenance and operations. Must have ability to install, maintain repair and operate moderately complex HVAC, plumbing, or electrical system and devices. Must be familiar with blue prints and electrical schematics.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resources Business Partner.

Working Conditions: Building maintenance environment. Overtime and non standard work hours as needed. May be required to work non-standard and/or rotating shifts and outside in various weather conditions. Requires the ability to lift and carry objects weighing over 50 ponds, and to push/move up to 100 pounds. Ability to lift, carry, walk, kneel, stoop, climb, balance, work from heights. Frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals and solutions.
