Program Summary
KBR is looking for highly motivated individuals to join our team within the Defense Systems Engineering organization, supporting the sustainment engineering efforts of the Air Force and other DoD customers across multiple programs. We provide engineering expertise in reverse engineering, prototyping, analysis, and other aspects of digital material management, allowing our customers to keep legacy systems in operation during the later stages of their lifespans.
Job Summary
This position will support our Tinker AFB customers by resolving mechanical sustainment issues. Under direct supervision, the employee independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. With additional experience within one functional area, assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations, and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Creating models and drawings in SolidWorks
- Assist project engineers with basic mechanical engineering tasks
- Assisting in writing and review of technical documentation for installation, testing and summary reports for engineering deliverables
- Working in lab space for fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical products
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or similar degree) from an ABET accredited school
- US Citizen
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified as Engineer in Training
- Proficient with SolidWorks
- Experience with ANSYS or other Finite Element Analysis software
- Skilled at written and oral communication
