Description
Leidos National Security group is seeking a Material Handler. The successful candidate will support logistics operations of the Navy Array Technical Support Center (NATSC), Newport RI, by performing physical tasks related to the handling of incoming and outgoing material.
Primary Responsibilities:
- These duties can include, but are not limited to loading and unloading of vehicles.
- Unpacking freight, placing received material in proper storage locations.
- Move/relocate material using pallet jacks or carts.
- Scrapping/cutting of excess material, maintain the cleanliness of warehouse and production floor.
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience supporting warehousing activities.
- Previous experience reading/interpreting warehouse storage plans preferred.
- Experience with the operation of standard office equipment (phones, computer, fax, copiers).
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted.
- Must have Interim Secret clearance to start on program and obtain final Secret to remain on program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting warehousing activities.
- Previous experience reading/interpreting warehouse storage plans.
- Experience with the operation of standard office equipment (phones, computer, fax, copiers).
- Recent experience at NATSC Newport as a Material Handling Laborer or equivalent.
This role is covered by the Service Contract Act. This position will pay $18.85 per hour.
