The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.
The Critical Infrastructure Group (CIG) within JOID provides technical, programmatic and analytical support to customers with missions in national security to include the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Group brings technical and operational expertise in fields of countering weapons of mass destruction, critical infrastructure protection, emergency response, nuclear non-proliferation, weapons deployment programs, and transportation safety. In addition to management and advisory services, CIG staff collaborate closely with our clients to provide high-quality modeling, simulation, software, and analytical products to meet the most demanding government standards and timelines.
We have an immediate need for a Senior Financial Analyst to provide remote support.
Responsibilities:
As a critical member of the SPA’s Federal Aviation Administration team, the Senior Financial Analyst will provide lead support on multiple implementation programs within a portfolio. The candidate will be the central point-of-contact for analyzing program financial data, executing funding, and reporting program financials to leadership. Will work closely will senior management, technical staff, and advisors in achieving client delivery objectives. Duties include providing a wide array of financial management activities in support of government acquisition programs. Produce recurring deliverables such as: budget formulation, execution and monitoring, financial analysis, financial artifact creation (purchase authorizations, purchase requisitions), status briefings, resource planning documents, and congressional inquiries. Respond to ad-hoc requests from multiple divisions with efficiency and analytical understanding of data being presented. Develop financial monitoring and tracking tools, PowerPoint creation, and documents to demonstrate understanding of program financials. Interact, utilize, and assist team members with various FAA financial systems. Collaborate with external stakeholders in reporting requirements and external financial goals.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in government finance-focused positions; concentrated on managing government financials (program actuals/expenditures, spend plans/ETCs, monthly reports and financial briefings)
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or Operational Research
- Excellent communication skills and a strong analytical background in gathering and interpreting complex amounts of data
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and other MS products
- Must meet Public Trust clearance eligibility requirements
Desired:
- MA/MS/MBA degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or Operational Research
- Direct FAA finance experience managing program actuals/expenditures, spend plans/ETCs, monthly reports and financial briefings, and financial systems (DELPHI, REGIS, SPIRE, PRISM)
- Direct FAA finance experience working with financial processes such as Corporate Workplan (CWP), Funding JON request (FJR), GovTrip and resource planning documents (RPDs)
