As a Senior Financial Analyst, Channel Finance, you will be providing financial support to the Canadian customer teams as well as other cross-functional team members. You’ll be a part of a dynamic team, setting financial targets, managing customer investment spend and driving sustainable value for the organization. This is a Hybrid role that requires the incumbent to be in the Mississauga head office several days a week.
HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Direct Business Partnering - Provide financial analysis and guidance on SKU level, promotional and customer profitability. Work with customer teams to monitor performance versus budget targets.
- Support customer teams with trade investment analysis, including resolution of variances and deduction follow-ups with Invoice to Cash team.
- Month End Close Reporting – Lead the month end close process, ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, post journal entries, validate balances in the General Ledger (SAP) and provide variance commentary.
- Budgeting/Forecasting – Proactively recommend updates to budgets/ forecasts, identify variances to plan and help identify risks and opportunities.
- Consolidate monthly financial results, run reports and present results to customer, commercial and leadership teams.
- Monitor sales overhead spend including variance analysis.
- Decision Support - Evaluate various scenarios and model the impact to the P&L, gathering insights and making recommendations for improvement.
- Controls and Compliance - Observe best practices, adheres to Section 404 (SOX) and U.S. GAAP, and comply with company policies.
- Educate non-Finance business partners on key financial metrics to help enhance financial performance and ensure alignment with company goals.
- Continuous Improvement – With an owner’s mindset, identify areas where we can standardize processes and develop better ones. Our success is shaped by you.
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
- Post-secondary education, Business Degree in Accounting/Finance. Accounting Designation completion or Program Enrollment preferred.
- Three to five years of related work experience. CPG experience is a bonus.
- Proven experience providing financial insight and analysis to non-finance stakeholders.
- High working knowledge of TPM, SAP, Excel, Power BI for reporting and analysis purposes.
- Working knowledge of financial models including pricing and P&L.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and results oriented.
- Self-motivated, quick learner, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Exposure to trade and investment analysis.
