The principal purpose of the Accounting Manager – Customer Payments Accounting (CPA) is to manage a team responsible for accurately processing and reviewing financial activities related to customer payment transactions (stores, on-line, etc.) and CPA projects. This includes supporting the stores on transactional issues as well as conducting effective research, managing, tracking, reporting, and reviewing work for financial activities to ensure accounting records are accurate on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis. This role must also work cross functionally with other Finance, Store Operations and Technology Teams to identify system issues, make financial corrections as needed, and ensure long term solutions are executed. This role supports the execution and design of internal controls over financial and regulatory reporting, by working independently to apply and provide experienced accounting judgment and knowledge of GAAP. In addition, this role will lead and guide the CPA projects team from understanding of the project, to proposed changes or solutions and finally testing to ensure appropriate accounting treatment for all transactions.
What will you do
Manages a group of individuals responsible for the timely processing of financial transactions and projects that require the application of accounting knowledge specific to Customer Payments Accounting. Identify recurring issues for Technology to resolve.
Manages the store support process that provides daily support to stores on transactional accounting issues related to customer payments.
Oversees training, work product review, and employee development within their respective group to build accounting skillset and knowledge and to ensure accuracy of financial reporting and analysis.
Manages and performs analysis (i.e. historical, forecasting, impact, etc.) and timely reconciliations to support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing cycles according to prescribed rates, laws, and regulations.
Manage and guide CPA multiple projects from definition, process and testing to deliver optimal solutions.
Communicates effectively within the team, across other functions, and directly with external auditors to resolve audit questions and issues.
Partners with team and other business areas to identify transaction issues and procedure improvement opportunities to support the needs of the Finance organization more-effectively.
Works with external and independent auditors for transactions to provide required data and information to ensure accuracy. Designs and oversees testing around financial controls to support SOX compliance for respective financial area.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree - Accounting or business field
5+ years accounting experience
Analytical/problem solving skills
Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally
Technically proficient in Microsoft Office suite products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple competing priorities
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting or related field
CPA, CFA and/or CMA Certification
3 Years Previous experience with managing global operations teams

Pay Range: $95,500.00 - $159,200.00 annually Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
