About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Treasury Analyst to support balance sheet and earnings at risk forecasting, reporting, and analytics.
Treasury at Wells Fargo is a dynamic team that is responsible for managing Wells Fargo's balance sheet including capital, liquidity, funding, and interest rate risk management. Treasury seeks to ensure Wells Fargo always maintains sufficient capital and liquidity resources to support growth in the Company's businesses, while also ensuring a satisfactory financial cushion exists to protect against unforeseen stresses in the economic environment or the Company's operations. Treasury also provides regulators, senior leaders, and the Board of Directors with key information to support risk management, financial performance management, and strategic planning.
Balance Sheet and Interest Rate Risk (BSIRRM) Group performs quantitative analysis of the balance sheet behavior and has primary responsibility to measure interest rate risk (IRR) and design corresponding risk mitigation strategies. Team members oversee the IRR simulation models, provide management with insight concerning changes that they see in the risk profile, and contribute to the generation of risk management strategies.
In this role, you will:- Be a subject matter expert with deep understanding of product, market segment, competitive environment and expected customer behavior under different interest rate and stress test scenarios and make recommendations to management on potential risks and opportunities
- Be responsible for complex modeling and analytics on treasury finance metrics
- Development and execution of reporting for senior management
- Ensure accurate recurring deliverables are completed and compliant with various treasury risk management regulatory requirements
- Engage across BSIRRM and key stakeholder groups to generate ad hoc analyses supporting strategy decisions and other key regulatory deliverables
- Ensure data quality and establish controlled processes
- Collaborate with Internal Audit, Corporate Risk Management and Model Governance teams as well as outside parties including regulatory agencies, accounting and consulting firms
- Make recommendations to more experienced group members and management
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Interact with internal customers
- Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Mentor and guide junior analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team
Required Qualifications:- 5+ years of Treasury experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative or financial discipline
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience with the execution of financial forecasting activities in a variety of scenarios
- Strong understanding of financial institution balance sheet construction, key risk areas, and financial forecasting
- Experience with bank regulations, particularly interest rate risk management requirements and applicability
- Experience executing financial analytics processes with high governance expectations, including transformational change in key processes, efficiency efforts, and leading cross-functional deliverable execution
- Financial Models and experience analyzing, valuing, and forecasting fixed income securities mortgage products, and interest rate swaps
- Experience with model risk governance and/or model validation in the financial services sector
- Significant attention to detail, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated experience managing complex
- Experience with SQL, Python, PowerBI, and third-party systems, including QRM
