Job Description
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for proactively supporting the Commercial Director to drive the regional strategic objectives and budget targets. This includes helping to manage the appointed Consumer Products Agents to deliver business growth in key categories, as well as distributors, licensees and retail partners
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Commercial Director to deliver the commercial and strategic objectives for SEA and India through proactive management of third-party agents.
- Maintain a day-to-day relationship with external Agent teams, to focusing on growth across key categories and retail accounts aligned to strategic goals to meet budget targets.
- Unlock the direct relationship with Regional Distributors to drive further regional growth with key master toy partners
- Work collaboratively with the internal UPE teams, (Legal, Finance, Category, Retail, Franchise) to ensure clear communication s to Agents and information flow on key deliverables are maintained.
- Ensure incoming deal memos meet Business and Region Guidelines to deliver business growth aligned to Category strategy.
- Responsibility to ensure prompt deal memo entry via CRM system and tracking critical path with Team Manager to Fully Executed contract status, complying to Company timelines and procedures.
- Work with our Retail & Franchise Director and Agent teams to deliver compelling cross-category Retail campaigns to build 365 consumer engagement including liaising on asset requirements and delivery and submission approvals
- Be a Brand champion for all retail marketing submissions and approvals.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across multiple divisions: Category, Franchise, Retail, Creative, Parks, Theatrical, T V, Distribution and Digital teams to ensure all information shared with Agents is up-to-date and relevant to deliver on business objectives in appointed markets.
- Work inter-divisionally to maximise “Symphony” marketing synergies to enhance cross category launches and sell-through at key accounts.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, Master Toy, Agent Teams, Distributors and Licensees to deliver accurate records and reports on launch collections and retail placement. • Working with the UP&E Creative Team to inspire licensees with new product ideas through innovative use of assets and creative concepts
- Working closely with the UP&E Creative Team to oversee product development life cycle from concept to release into retail
- Drive additional growth across the region by identifying gaps in categories, and markets
- Help co-ordinate business review presentations to cover key seasonal & consumer moments and maintain retail calendars for Agent markets
- Help with diary management of team schedule, arranging conference calls to fit regular business cadence and commercial deadlines.
- Maintaining databases, spreadsheets and tracking documents liaising internally and externally where required.
- Sharing best practice examples with Agent Teams to cover product category and retail.
Administration
- Stakeholder management, monitoring the status of all activities to provide weekly report updates.
- Planning retail pitch meetings, travel and accommodation arrangements
- Manage expenses in timely manner Communication and Culture

Qualifications
- 5-10 years + commercial experience; consumer good/ licensing industry experience favourable
- Demonstrable Business Management experience
- Proven track record managing a wide variety of commercial partners and stakeholders
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage parallel workstreams and multiple workflows, often to tight moving deadlines.
- Confident communicator with ability to liaise with multiple departments and stakeholders (some at senior level) internally and with external international partners
- Excellent administration skills and ability to balance and prioritize work-load across multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in management and delivery of retail marketing campaigns
- Demonstrable ability to lead as necessary and manage own projects / retail campaigns from conception to delivery.
- Highly motivated and results-orientated
- Someone with both an eye for detail and an eye for creativity
- Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Proactive, can-do attitude. Solutions focused with high attention to detail
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Keynote and Mac.
- Work experience across SEA/ India would be highly regarded
