DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Production Associate to join our Upfit Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Operates manual and automated equipment to manufacture and assemble product in order to create the proper characteristics and dimensions necessary to meet customer requirements and design specifications.
- May perform production assembly, including drilling and bolting.
- Interpret basic installation drawings and work as a team to accomplish installations.
- Ability to read detailed equipment and part diagrams/prints of Cummins and OEM products and verify torque values referenced from established engineered guidelines.
- Operate Forklifts, Stand Up Reach Trucks, Jib Crane, Overhead Crane and other warehouse machinery.
- Proactively identify and address inaccuracies within Production and assist other Team Members with corrections.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
- Mechanical knowledge required, ability to run assembly functions with limited supervision, engine experience preferred.
- Ability to use power tools, remove/install external engine and generator components. Must own standard/basic tools or willing to purchase/invest in tools.
- Must be comfortable working in a time-on task/production cell environment, working closely with Team Members to meet production goals and delivery targets. Must be able to physically lift 50 pounds frequently and unassisted.
- Requires Cummins provided certification to operate powered industrial vehicles (reach trucks, order pickers, pallet rider, etc..).
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Licenses, Certifications
- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
- This position does not require any Department of Transportation (DOT) related pre-screenings.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
