Overview
ABM Industries is looking for Generator Technicians to join our Electrical Power Services team.
As a Generator/Equipment Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing a variety of mechanical systems and equipment. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of machinery, vehicles, and other mechanical systems as well as other types of electrical equipment essential for the organization's functionality, such as switchgear repairs & apparatus testing, IR scans, installation of electrical equipment and more.
For this position we are aiming to find generator repair experience, preferably an electrical theory background but not required, our ABM equipment technician experts will provide hands on training on the electrical testing part of the job and this training will be geared towards NETA (National Electric Testing Association) The world’s most respected organization with the highest standards & practices for electrical apparatus testing.

Position Overview:
Pay: $52,000-$83,200 Salary.
The pay listed is the salary range for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal functioning of machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Conduct inspections and assessments to identify potential issues and prevent equipment failures.
- Repair and replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to coordinate maintenance schedules and prioritize repair tasks.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Stay updated on advancements in mechanical technology and techniques through continuous learning and training.
- Learn how to perform switchgear testing, IR scans & apparatus testing.
- This position may require local travel up to 50% using a company vehicle.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a mechanic or similar role, preferably in an industrial or commercial setting.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills.
- Certification or formal training in mechanical engineering or a related field is desirable.
