We are looking for a Tester to join our high-performing team for a long-term engagement with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The ideal candidate will be responsible for understanding project requirements, developing detailed test plans and test cases, setting up test environments, and executing both manual and automated tests. They will log and track defects, conduct regression and acceptance testing, and ensure that updated code meets all functional and non-functional requirements. Additionally, the Tester will document testing activities, report progress to stakeholders, and actively contribute to improving testing processes to ensure the quality and reliability of modernized code.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Define and specify the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability of client’s software products.
- Understand user needs and test software solutions through clear communication with product owner and scrum team.
- Based on requirements, develop test plans.
- At conclusion of test, prepare end of test report.
- Test software within a cloud environment customized to IRS requirements.
- Execute stringent unit testing of delivered code to verify that it meets all functional requirements.
- Oversee peer testing, as needed.
- Act as SME to support regression testing activities carried out by tests such as an Application Qualification Test (AQT) and System Acceptance Test (SAT) testing teams, ensuring that the software meets the functional requirements.
- Test complete applications and re-tests results of bug fixes and security scans and Section 508 testing (as needed).
- Conduct final integrations testing, as needed.
- Use Jenkins to deploy code and execute automated regression test.
- Be a team player capable of high performance and flexibility in a dynamic working environment.
- Work to achieve day-to-day objectives with moderate impact on the area/ project team.
- Works independently on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments.
- Address somewhat complex technical issues/problems using internal best practices and through collaboration with colleagues.
- Develop solutions to technical problems that require depth of technical knowledge, but are typically limited in complexity.
- Communicate with colleagues across multiple areas (project managers, other technical resources, etc.).
- Explain technical solutions, practices and procedures to others within the organization.
- Possess working knowledge of and ability to apply standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques of technical domain.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS degree or equivalent experience and 3 or more years experience as a Tester.
- Experience with Microsoft products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint).
- Experience with test automation framework (Selenium, Cypress, etc.).
- Experience with software development lifecycle.
- Database knowledge.
- Experience with continuous integration/ continuous delivery (CI/CD).
- Experience resolving routine problems and issues, without clearly prescribed solutions.
- Experience checking and making minor adjustments to work methods to solve problems.
- Must have ability to obtain a Minimum Background Investigation, similar to a Public Trust Clearance, prior to start.

Desired Qualifications:
- Current MBI clearance.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance tools: Jenkins, Selenium, LoadRunner, Splunk, JSON/XML Schema, and the CLM Suite.
- Knowledge and experience in software development.
- Experience testing software products on projects in an IRS/Treasury environment.
- Experience testing software on an Agile development team.
Clearance Requirements:
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) for 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $55,250.00 - $99,875.00
