Overview
The District Manager supervises field staff, including Account Managers, Route Managers and Supervisors. Will be responsible for the planning, organization, and direction of the activity of current management to ensure services exceed each client’s expectations. You will effectively maintain existing client relationships while promoting growth of new business within the market. The District Manager will manage the work within the appropriate budget requirements and work closely with the customer or building management company. Work with any customer issues as well as employee relations issues.

Essential Duties
- Ensure company standards are met in compliance with the operations and servicing contractual obligations to customers within specified budget of labor and expense.
- Reviews daily labor and responsible for properly educating supervisors on payroll procedures.
- Responsible for adhering to and enforcing established company policy.
- Remains connected to and builds great relationships with to ensure highest levels of customer intimacy, satisfaction and retention.
- Understand and use proper personnel management skills to resolve problems with employee and supervisory personnel.
- Carry out both positive recognition and disciplinary action as needed, and train subordinates as needed.
- Establishes and reinforces a high level of safety awareness throughout the district. Ensures that company policy and all safety requirements are administered properly. Responsible for reporting of accidents involving personnel, vehicles, public liability, property damage and fidelity claims.
- Responsible for training subordinate personnel in current purchasing and payroll programs Assists in district supply systems and with ordering supplies.
- Ensure subordinates provide proper supply levels to all accounts within supply expense budget given. No discretionary spending without PRIOR approval of branch management.
- Maintain business in line with branch financial goals by managing job budgets and costs associated to area of direct responsibility. Assumes responsibility for supervisor vacation and holiday replacement coverage.
- Must know the city, state and federal laws and regulations that affect company business and know what licenses are required to operate the business.
- Assists Branch Manager in new launches and various tasks as needed within the branch.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or requested.
- Works closely with Sales to move the business forward with new growth. This includes site visits, job walks, prospective customer meetings, etc.
- Responsible for project sales and working through the operations team to achieve growth goals.
Minimum Requirements
- 5-7 Years’ experience in a service-oriented environment
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to work with and communicate with front line employees as well as upper-level management.
- Ability to effectively lead a staff of direct reports.
- Skilled in project management, problem-solving techniques, and communicating ideas and instructions clearly.
- Skilled in directing activities and operations of others, including activities involving hazardous situations.
- Skills in relationship-building, teamwork, and collaboration.
- Positive attitude with a strong desire to learn and a continuous improvement mind-set.
- Must be able to prepare advanced documents using Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Comfortable with routinely shifting demands.
- Working knowledge of custodial services, including routine periodics (floor care, etc).
- Ability to prioritize projects and execute and deliver key objectives in a timely manner under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic, results-oriented environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail, self-motivated, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
